Tom would not be here if it weren't for The Royal Children's Hospital.

 

After being diagnosed with aortic valve stenosis (a life-threatening heart condition), Tom underwent his first lot of open heart surgery at 4 weeks of age. Tom has a lifetime of surgery ahead. He will need a full valve replacement at some stage, and at best will need surgery every 10-15 years.

 

Tom has an incredible team of nurses, paediatricians, cardilogists and surgeons around him. If we lived in a different part of the world, Tom's outcome may have been very different.
