This is Vivi Rose. At 5 days old she was given 3 weeks to live. Last January, Vivi had her 4th Birthday!!! Despite being diagnosed with Full Trisomy 18, Vivi continues to defy the statistics, predictions and prognoses of her condition. Vivi has learned to stand and play for extended periods of time in her stander, and take steps in her walker, despite her severe s-curve scoliosis and the fact that she will most likely never walk! Vivi wakes up happy and giggly every day, and has a smile because she knows YOU need it, despite the persistence of colds and viruses which can knock her down for days at a time. Vivi inspires me to be grateful fo all that I have, to be the best I can be, and to challenge myself every day.

 

Melbourne's RCH have been by Vivi's side, helping her reach milestones and dealing with her healh and developmental issues from the start. Nothing is too much trouble, and anything is worth a try!

 

As such, I have decided to make a difference by once again taking part in Run for the Kids and raising money for the Good Friday Appeal.
