I have been privileged and blessed with the greatest honour - to be the aunt of two of the most precious angels on this earth. My beautful niece and her courageous and fearless little brother - Nondas.

At the age of 22 months Nondas was diagnosed with an incuarable brain tumour known as an epindemona. They are one of the rarest brain tumours in both children and adults. They occur mostly in children. Brain tumours are the greatest causes of child mortality and there is still no known cures for most of them. There is no known cure for epindemonas but our medical scientists both here and around the world are working tirelessly to find that golden grail that will allow our beautiful little souls to live the life that they deseve on this earth - full of opportunity, success, adventure, happiness, good times and most of all good health. 

Our little boy at the age of 7 has grown up sooner than he should have. He has grown up to endure endless surgeries, radiotherapy and months and months of many many different types of chemotherapy - more than any human being should be expected to endure. And yet he has. He has taught us the true strength of courage, physical endurance but most of all how to make the most of every single HOUR of the day...because it may very well be your last. 

I am honoured to run in this year's Run 4 Kids Good Friday Appeal for my nephew, his family and for all of our beautiful little people on this earth. Because they ARE our future. They should all be honoured and treasured. 

I am also honoured to participate in this event to honour and remember the Royal Children's Hospital. Each day their nurses, doctors and other medical staff work tirelessly to make the lives of so many children and their families bearable in the face of adversity. They too are our heroes. 

Any contribution no matter how small or big will be greatly appreciated. This is about sharing the responsibility and challenge to to work as a community to find the cures that these little people need and deserve.
